Appointments reflect DC Advisory Partners’ commitment to international growth with specialist sector expertise
18 July 2011, London – DC Advisory Partners, the leading pan-European corporate finance house, has this week appointed Philipp Gutzwiller as Managing Director. Based in London, Philipp will be responsible for advising clients in the healthcare sector across Europe.
Philipp has 17 years of corporate finance experience dedicated mainly to the healthcare sector. He joins DC Advisory Partners from CFS Advisors LLC (“CFS”), a financial services firm he founded three years ago. During his time at CFS, Philipp advised pharmaceutical and media clients including Takeda, Daiichi-Sankyo, Alvogen and VidZone on both M&A and financing transactions.
Prior to CFS, Philipp was a Managing Director at UBS on the Global Healthcare Team where he advised large and mid-cap clients in the European pharmaceutical industry, he was also instrumental in establishing relationships with the largest Japanese pharmaceutical companies. He subsequently won mandates from corporate and private equity clients in Europe, the Middle East and Asia with a combined value in excess of $100 billion. Philipp, who had joined UBS as an associate only eight years previously, was responsible for 25 key pharmaceutical clients including AstraZeneca, Bayer, Merck, Roche and Novo Nordisk in Europe as well as Takeda, Otsuka, Astellas, Eisai and Daiichi Sankyo in Japan.
Philipp started his career in a corporate finance role at F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd, one of the world’s largest pharmaceuticals companies. He is fluent in English, German and French.
Philipp’s appointment is the second in as many months for DC Advisory Partners, which recently recruited Jeff Blue as a Managing Director on its Leisure and Retail team.
